I take the GLOBAL IELTS Hangzhou branch as an example. This is an education institution, and mainly focused on youth education. I was an intern there in 2009 summer vacation. In this institution, there was a plan to use computers in the class and provide e-books in the classroom in that time. I will do a scenario planning in this organization.
Scenario planning :
There are 6 steps in scenario planning: find the right issue, locate the driving forces, rate the forces, create scenario, discuss implications and develop indicators.
Find the right issue:
The classes be given in this institution is in traditional and single mode. Children who are participated in this training class felt tired and can not focus themselves in the classes. As a result, the institution wanted to do some changes to adjust the new situation. Computers has been taken into account. Some computers would be a tool in the class and the library. However, no one can guarantee the effect of the change.
Locate the driving forces:
Manger in this institution (Better education mode can make the institution take advantage in the competition).
Children who take classes in this institution
Parents care about their children’s learning
Rate the forces:
Mainly related to the learning effect of children and the benefit of the organization.
Create scenario:
- apply computers in the class
- add computers in the library and teach children to use it for reading e-books
Discuss the implications:
For scenario 1: The cost of add equipment in the class would be high. At the same time, the institution have to arrange time to train the teachers. Accordingly, teachers must spend more time on operating the computer and do preparations for their classes. And the content rather than the picture, video and audio should be appeal to the children.
For scenario 2: The eyesight of children is mainly concern. Computers may be the big killer of children’s eyesight.
Develop indicators:
For scenario 1: Training class for teachers to use computers correctly should be provided by the institution. Meanwhile, chances for teachers to communicate with each other about computer should be arranged.
For scenario 2: The use time of child should be regulated. In addition to, the institution should add a specific librarian to take charge of computers.

ReplyDeleteThanks very much for sharing your experience in IELTS. You said it quite write that "no one can guarantee the effect of the change", but still is it a good thing that at least they have done something.
Education pf children is the fist thing for every family, and people pay more attention in education problem in this information era. I think we should do all efforts to reduce the bad effect of changes in education.

Deletethe basic education is the most important thing I think in the whole learning process.
And this will make sense in the following learning procedure, have effect on their learning approaches or learning habit
